1. How do I purchase/renew a subscription?
You can purchase a subscription by clicking on Subscribe Now located on the top red navigation bar. It will take you through a step-by-step process to subscribe. Occasionally we will offer a Coupon Code for a discount on a subscription. If you have one, you will put it into the first page you see when you click on Subscribe Now. If you not have a coupon code, simply click on next to complete the process. If you are interested in purchasing a group subscription for your department, organization, or system, contact Customer Support by clicking on Contact Us located on both the top red navigation bar and the bottom grey bar.
2. Should I use a subscription service?
We encourage that you order PlainViews® directly from our website without the assistance of any subscription services such as EBSCO. We have found that going through such services, which are not familiar with our product, creates confusion and lost time in accessing your subscription.
3. How do I know when my subscription expires?
Log in to PlainViews®, then click on Subscribe Now on the top red navigation bar, you will receive a message telling you when your subscription expires. If you receive an error message when you try to log in, it is likely because your subscription has expired.
4. I forgot my password, how can I find out what it is?
Under the Login on the left navigation bar, you will find a link that says Forgotten Password. When you click on it, you will be directed to insert your email address, and will receive an email with your password information. If you cannot remember what email address you have associated with your account, contact Customer Support by clicking on Contact Us located on both the top red navigation bar and the bottom grey bar. Due to the privacy of the system, we are unable to see your password; however, we can give you the current email you have on file.
5. How can I change my password, email, address, or other account information?
After you have logged in, you will find at the bottom of the page a link to My Account. By clicking on it, you will go to a page where you can change your password and other personal details.
6. How can I change the text size to make it larger or smaller?
Your internet browser has a zoom setting, usually under View, which will allow you to zoom in to make the text size larger or smaller.
7. Can I share my login information or subscription with someone who is not a subscriber?
No. The Terms and Conditions for your subscription can be read by clicking on the link on the grey bar at the bottom of the page.
8. How do I post a comment?
The PlainViews comment section is powered by Disqus, which is one of the most used comment applications on the web. On the right side of the line that says “Post a Comment,” you’ll see the word “Login.” This gives you the choice of logging in using your Disqus account (you can set one up for free), or your Facebook, Twitter, or Google account. Comments provide a way to not only share your response to an article, but to engage in dialogue with other readers to share information, resources, and information. If after reading an article you have a thought or question, take the time to post a comment and build the PlainViews® community.
PlainViews® welcomes and encourages article comments that are constructive and courteous. As this is a journal for professionals, it is expected that all exchanges be respectful, particularly when responding to another. All comments are moderated by the managing editor; those that are disrespectful, rude, and/or inflammatory will be deleted.
9. How do I print an article?
At the top of each page, on the right side you will see a printer icon. By clicking on it, a new window will open to a printer-friendly version of the article. By pressing on your keyboard the command of Ctrl and p at the same time, a window will open for you to choose your printer and print the article of your choice.
10. How do I save an article?
On the right top of the page you will see a save icon. By clicking on it, a new window will open to give you the option to save the article as a PDF. You may want to change the name of the article so that you can find it in your files. PDFs of entire issues are not available; a decision made after consulting with other professional journals from both chaplaincy and other professional disciplines.
11. How do I cite an article?
(Authors Last Name, First Name). (Title of Article). PlainViews. (Vol #No. #). (Date) HealthCare Chaplaincy Network. Web: http://www.plainviews.org.
